Geography
In the elementary classroom, students refine their geography skills. While the 3-6 year-olds worked with continents and country names, the 6-9 year-olds work with country names and capitals. Students can also explore economic geography by investigating what products or resources are in various countries.
Cultural studies go hand-in-hand with geography, and our students consider the Fundamental Needs of Humans in various geographic and historic settings. What did ancient Greeks do for food, clothing, shelter? Students compare shelters in different parts of the world, often building replica shelters as part of their studies. Art and music studies often complement the geography and cultural themes in the classroom.
Throughout the year, we welcome our families to share their geographic and cultural diversity with our students.
