Language

Language in the elementary classroom continues to build skills at decoding (reading) and encoding (writing). The Montessori materials that unlock the mysteries of grammar are unique and insightful. Students enjoy learning parts of speech, and diagramming sentences using the Montessori grammar symbols.

The mixed-age classroom provides an environment where each child can progress at his/her own pace, reading and writing with classmates who are working at a similar level. Students often work together in small teams on research projects, and enjoy the experience of presenting their work to their classmates and to younger children.

We’ll add more details about the elementary language curriculum soon.
